About Carinyah
When you choose to dive into the unknown your whole world can change
Welcome to Carinyah Women's Bodywork and Womb Therapies! Carinyah was birthed in 2018 in Thornlie as a home-based business and has since expanded into providing therapies at local Retreats and Workshops; and in-home care for postpartum mamas, Oncology clients and those with limited mobility.

Running my business from home ensures I have balance in my life and can support my family by being present and available. The name 'Carinyah' means Happy Healthy Home and I strive to be as authentic in that as possible.

With an initial focus on the physical aspects of wellness through massage and nurturing touch, Carinyah Bodywork was born. Over the years, it has grown to incorporate so much more than massage as I have shifted and grown as a facilitator of healing, self-development and discovery.

From my early days of practicing through to today, I have always aimed to bring to you a service that is inclusive, non-judgmental, confidential and most of all, full of compassion and love because there are too many things in this world today which are hard. When you come here, I want to make you feel like the awesome and powerful person you are!

My clients feel like family to me. I offer more than just a great massage - I aim to bring community together and connect people as much as possible.

Please know that when you come to see me, you are receiving care from a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community. I have completed further studies and training in counselling and trauma-informed care; hold Working with Children and Police Clearances and am open, honest and a sensitive empath.

I look forward to holding space for you.
About Kristen
I am Goddess. A mother, a sister, a daughter, a friend.
I am all that you are, as we are all connected in this divine flow of life and consciousness. I see you, I feel you and I love you in all of your beautiful being.

I have spent my life exploring, pushing boundaries, challenging myself and testing my own limits. I love and learn and grow, I embrace change and move ever forward towards whatever awaits me!

I have always felt a strong connection to women, to sisterhood and to the power of nurturing others. As an individual, I grew up confident and quirky; a little weird, a little unique. I was picked on but it didn't define me or hold me back; I feel that each rejection, each knock, made me stronger. I always loved the underdog, the other weirdos, the ones who stood their ground and didn't try to be one of the normals!

My career started in the health sector in the United Kindgom when I journeyed there as a 21-year old world adventurer. I spent the next 20 years working, studying and building a financially successful career. However, I eventually discovered that financial success doesn't necessarily equate with happiness and I experienced burnout in 2018.

During this period, I leaned heavily on alcohol to manage the stress I was under in my career and as a mother to my two children.

I was struggling to give up my crutch of alcohol - my very poor coping mechanism - for many years and was drinking and not able to stop. At my wits end, I decided to give AA (Alcoholics Anonymous) meetings a go and it was here that I began to recover.
I was very surprised by what I found. As a child who was brought up Catholic, I eventually came to loathe religion in my teenage years as I found it conformist and oppressive, particularly to women. However, in AA I was presented with a concept of faith that wasn't centred on religion and instead invited me to develop a relationship with a God of my own understanding. This idea was the catalyst for a major inner transformation and spiritual awakening that changed me immeasurably.

I took time to really recover. I quit my job and focused on my sobriety and my recovery from the past. I focused on really nurturing MYSELF for the first time and this create space within for true self-discovery.

In June 2018, I turned 40. As a wonderful gift, we all went to the Greek island of Crete for two weeks of rest and relaxation. On the day of my 40th, my mum treated me to a massage, on a beautiful rooftop in downtown Chania. It was here, with the breeze gently blowing, the smell of the sea being carried towards us and the connected feeling of soft and gentle hands on my back, that I thought to myself 'wouldn't it be amazing to work in a job like this where I just make people feel good all the time, instead of pissing them off with requests for reports and project updates'?

I immediately went back and started researching massage courses and within two weeks, I was enrolled to complete a Diploma in Remedial Massage.

Although I was a huge fan of getting massages, I had never actually considered studying massage before in my life. I completed my Diploma and went on to discover a whole new world of holistic and alternative therapies that propelled me into a life I had never dreamed about. During this time, I continued to focus on staying sober and I truly believe that the holistic approach of group therapy, bodywork and learning mindfulness and meditation, was what allowed me to experience a number of spiritual awakenings and to become the person I am today.

I read whenever I can, study as much as possible, and never stop experiencing new things. I have completed a Shamanic Mentorship and include practices such as soul shard retrieval, Shamanic journeying, inner child healing and power animal connection. I often use a sacred Medicine Drum in clinic and use sound therapy and sound healing instruments, aromatherapy and multidimensional healing to balance the subtle energetics of the body. I work on a very deep level with your body and decipher the messages that are being communicated to me through both the energetic and physical form.

In addition to all this, I have a wonderful partner, two kids, two dogs, two guinea pigs and like to cook, play the banjolele, sing my little heart out and dance like there is no tomorrow. I love yoga and meditation and trance dance and Qi Gong - you might say I like a bit of everything! I volunteer regularly at the local school, teaching kids about meditation and mindfulness and host community sound healing events whenever I have time.

I often sit in sacred circle and ceremony, with other brothers and sisters, to deeply connect to myself and the collective consciousness of all things; and to shed my own heavy vibrational energies. I truly believe in and feel the energy of the collective and am here in my capacity as a person of high vibrational frequency, to transmute the highest frequencies of healing in service to you.

Peace, love and all that stuff

My Approach

If you are looking for a more holistic approach to your massage therapy, you have come to the right place!
A big part of what I do is to communicate with your body on many different levels. My work is not just the act of giving massage or bodywork for the release of tension or pain; it is helping clear the emotions, the trauma, the deeply embedded beliefs and conditions from your mental, emotional and etheric bodies.
A typical session would see me working with the energy and aroma of sage or palo santo to welcome you to the space and mark the transition from the 3-D world into the safety of a higher frequency dimensional space, where you are immediately lifted to another level of presence.

I may start by doing an Oracle Card Reading and discussion about how the card and the message resonates with you. We can spend as long as you need in talking about anything you want to share with me. You are also welcome to cry, laugh, and swear, as well as burp and fart!! Everything is welcome here!

All of my packages and some pregnancy/womb offerings will include a divine foot soak and scrub to honour you in your body, as a woman and sister, goddess.

You will then receive your massage or bodywork, using a wide variety of techniques and approaches. In the winter, I often use hot stones, hot oil and hot towels, along with an electric blanket for added warmth. I love to work on the face and scalp, as well as any other key areas of focus in my sessions.

I use pure Authentic and Organic essential oils from Ahimsa. All of my body products are Organic and I source them from Nelumbo Artisan Skincare and Hindi Belle Holistic.

I use a range of sound healing instruments throughout the session and you will be gently transformed through the use of Crystal Sound Bowls & Pyramids, Shamanic Medicine Drums, Rainstick, Ocean Drum, Shruti Box, Tingsha Bells, Gong and Chimes.

I am very multifaceted in my approach, giving you a truly magical experience every time you visit.
